if my tv has a digital tuner what do I need to receive reception after the dtv conversion?

Question by chiorboy1986: if my tv has a digital tuner what do I need to receive reception after the dtv conversion?
I have a Vizio flat screen lcd television, and I know it has a digital tuner. However, with the switch taking place in less than 60 days, do I still need a converter box? Or do I just don’t connect anything but an antenna?

If your set has a digital (ATSC) tuner built in, then you are all set. All you need is a good quality, properly installed antenna and you could be enjoying free Over The Air digital TV tonight. A lot of it will be HD, too.

The converter boxes are a digital tuner and an analog down converter for old analog sets. A modern digital set will have the right stuff built in.

How do I use a strobe tuner to tune overtones?

Question by nico88@sbcglobal.net: How do I use a strobe tuner to tune overtones?
I’m trying to build a marimba and the information I’ve found tells me to triple tune the bars by tuning various overtones. I know which ones to do and how to raise and lower the pitch of the overtones but I have no idea how to measure them to see if they’re right. I’ve been told to use a strobe tuner so I got the app for my phone. I just can’t figure out how to use it to measure overtones.

How do you tune a guitar to alternate tunings using an electric tuner?

Question by giantboy5: How do you tune a guitar to alternate tunings using an electric tuner?
I’m trying to learn a song that is played in Drop A tuning. (two steps down from D) How would i tune it two that using my standard tuner?

Best answer:

Answer by Jz
I have never owned a standard tuner in my life believe it or not and i hae been playing for like 5-6 years…do you have guitar pro? if you do you can tune your guitar that way.i use amplitube for a tuner but theres also different ways like downloading a tuner on download.com…

.the way i used to do it when i first started playing was to look up a tab of the song i want to learn..look for a part where they play the lowest note open…like in your case it would be drop a..listen to the part of the song where they play the low a and down tune your low e string until you reach the same pitch as the songs..after that tuning the rest of the strings should be pretty easy just tune them by ear to match in tune with the other strings…im not good at explaining things like this but i hope i least helped a little

Q&A: What kind of strings and tuner should I get for my acoustic guitar?

Question by taaaaylor!: What kind of strings and tuner should I get for my acoustic guitar?
I need to get some strings for my epiphone. Im not sure which kind to get. And whats the prince range??

Also, I need a good tuner. Over the past 3 months my strings have gotten worn out. Something that I can also use for standard and down step, or whatever you call it.

Thanks!!

There are lot of fine strings on the market. I use and recommend Elixir Nanoweb light gauge acoustic strings. They are expensive but they last a long time.

The best tuner for acoustic guitars is the IntelliTouch model PT-1. Again, it’s not the cheapest but it’s the best by far since it tunes by vibration so you can use it in a noisy room even when others are tuning their guitars.
